I think most customers don't realize photo sculpture's are also magnets, ornaments, pins, and key chains. If a customer doesn't click on a photo sculpture, how do they know this.

Suggestions for photo sculpture's

Zazzle should add this to the all products drop down menu.
photo sculpture magnets
photo sculpture ornaments
photo sculpture pins
photo sculpture key chains

If I make a photo sculpture primarily as a ornament their should be a icon on the thumbnail indicating it.

Questions I have about photo sculpture's.

How do I know how a photo sculpture will turn out?

Are transparent areas clear or opaque?

Is there a person at zazzle approving the sculpture's quality?

If I want a whole painting as the photo sculpture, does it only trim around the boarder?

Are photo sculpture magnets Black on the bottom?

How do I know a ornament will balance right?

If you agree with me that photo sculpture should also be advertised as magnets, ornaments, pins, key chains. Leave a comment, because I think everyone will missing out on a lot of sale if Zazzle doesn't advertise photo sculpture's this way.

This is a good point. I have no idea what a photo sculpture is and I am almost an original Zazzler.

I had no idea about that with photo sculptures! I just thought they were something to sit on the desktop like a photo frame. And because I wasn't interested in that I've just ignored it. But that's really cool that it can be those other things!

I agree that more people would be interested in the photo sculptures if they knew that. And a drop down menu listing them separately might work.

I am sure if customers realized that the photo sculptures were Ornaments then we would have alot more sales of these around the holidays.
They would make lovely christmas tree ornaments, and even come with a red ribbon.

I think it would be great for Zazzle to promote that they have holiday ornaments ...

If you tag them as ornaments, they will show up in the search that way. I also add a description for the few I've made. Also, there are pictures right on the product page for customers to use as guides.

This is the page for "seashell ornaments". Obviously some people do not tag correctly, but you can see what came up.

The problem is that the little gray box beneath doesn't look like the product would be an ornament. It still looks like a photo sculpture and I bet that is confusing for many.

Personally, I think they are too expensive to sell as anything.

I totally agree! Glad you posted this!

I read where someone wanted ornaments to be added to the Wish List, and they were told by another Zazzler that the sculptures could be made into ornaments. Well, that was news to me as all I'd ever seen on the front page was sculptures.

If I want to make or buy an ornament, I want to be able to click on "ornament".

Maybe they should all be re-branded/relaunched as:

- Acrylic Photo Cut-Out (Free-standing)
- Acrylic Photo Cut-Out Magnet
- Acrylic Photo Cut-Out Ornament
- Acrylic Photo Cut-Out Pin
- Acrylic Photo Cut-Out Key Chain

They're not really Sculptures anyway, a sculpture would be 3D.

It's funny you should mention this. I did some tweaking of my site this week which basically involved separating out all my products into product categories for easy browsing (as the template buffet doesn't have a drop down product browser like regular stores.) The benefit of this was I could define my own categories, so instead of having "Photo Sculptures," I put them in more relevant categories; Magnets, Photo Frames, Ornaments etc.) Since then (less than a week) I've sold 2 photo sculptures, which is incredible, because in the last 2 or so years I've barely sold any.

Good idea, although I'd rather the 'Photo' part be left out altogether. Not really sure why they put that in there, kind of limits what they should be.

I agree. I have a silhouette image of a girl's profile that I think would be cool as a magnet and keychain, but it's not a photo. However, I don't know how many people would buy it for $15+ dolllars. But it's possible some might.

Off topic...I really like how you tweaked and categorized your shop.

I'd guess that 99% of customers and 90% of designers haven't realized that either (including myself). So well worth looking at these items again, especially if Zazzle re-jig the marketing and descriptions on these product lines.

Anther shopkeeper came up with this idea.

photo sculpture pendants (Acrylic Pendants) with metal loop

Instead of a red ribbon loop add a option use a metal loop for securing with a ring to a necklace or chain.

Metal loops can come in sterling silver, silver and gold.

Some of my photo sculpture's like this one have transparent areas. I don't think every detail will be cutout this one. If someone buys it as a magnet they will return it because the magnetic back will make the product look bad.

I don't think they are transparent, I believe they are printed on white acrylic, at least that's all I've seen in photos.

In the wish list, I put I'd like the option for transparent acrylic, I've seen transparent photo ornaments and they look great. Could look classy as a stand, too. But you're right, transparent wouldn't look too good as a magnet.

It says it's clear on this page. But they do look white or opaque in the pictures. Maybe the magnets painted white on one side.

That's a cool idea that would sell well. High school and collage students could also attachment to there book-bags and trapper-keepers.

The photo sculptures/magnets/etc. are constructed so that there is a solid white acrylic base, then the artwork, then a clear acrylic layer on top.

Here's a photo of one that I ordered from my shop...

Thanks for clearing up the "made of clear acrylic" question. Zazzle should reword their description, "clear" sounds like it would be transparent.

That magnet looks gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the photo with us. Smile
